Whether you are a tea connoisseur or a tea-curious novice, DelishTea Company invites you to sharpen your palate and gain an intimate appreciation for our premium tea collection. At DelishTea Company, our teas are skillfully crafted, in-house by our experienced tea experts. Each tea is blended individually according to family recipes passed down for three generations. Our tea masters have working knowledge of botany, geology, meteorology and gastronomy, all of which helps us to evaluate the tea profiles for aromatics, flavor and texture. We have mastered the blending process and increased the potential of our teas' color, aroma, mouthfeel, and finish.  Tea is a bit like wine, whose grape harvests are different each year; tea harvesting is also different each year. It is a challenge as well as a joy for our tea masters to adjust and blend the different seasons' tea harvests to achieve and keep consistent the tea quality and taste.
 
Our tea company’s name in Chinese is '劉新茂茶莊', Lau Sun Mou Tea Co. Ltd. as seen in the photograph of our retail store. We are the third generation of small business tea merchants in Toronto and Hong Kong.  We only use traditional tea plantations from the last three generations as our tea sources to ensure that the quality and legacy of our tea are maintained.  
 
The growing, harvesting, and production of tea is one of the oldest traditions in China and has always been a vital part of life there. Chinese people are known for their great skill in preparing Gong Fu tea (功夫茶), the ‘espresso’ of Chinese teas, especially in Chaozhou (潮州), the region of eastern Guangdong (廣東).
 
Historically, tea was a prestigious business and it required a combination of hard work, honing of the tea connoisseur skills, and tea-making experience, including perfect blending and roasting methods. In the1930’s, our grand uncle opened a tea house in Chaozhou. Our father thus became enamored with tea, and studied for many years with famous tea companies. He eventually became a Tea Master, and when his family migrated to Hong Kong, he started his own tea business there. 
 
We grew up in our tea store in Hong Kong. When our father’s hectic schedule permitted he would always sit with us while we did side-by-side tea tastings. He would teach us the characteristics of various teas, and he liked to test us to see if we could distinguish between different grades of teas or different seasonal harvests. Seeing our wonderful parents as devoted Tea Makers is the sweetest memory in our lives, and it is one of the reasons we have such a great passion and obsession for tea.   
 
Traditionally, Chinese families were large, and family businesses were passed down from generation to generation. Our tea business evolved gradually over the last sixty years, and our siblings have now inherited the business and we manage stores in Hong Kong and Toronto. We are so proud to be carrying on our family's legacy, providing customers with top-quality tea.
